To install the StegoSOC Agent, follow the instructions below:

  1. Review the agent requirements, stegosoc agent for 64-bit architectures.
  2. Create a configuration file, and add your license key:
    sudo -i
    mkdir /etc/stegosoc
    echo "license_key: YOUR_LICENSE_KEY" | tee -a /etc/stegosoc/config.yml

     You can obtain your license key from https://secure.stegosoc.com/agents/install
  3. Determine the distribution and version number:
    cat /etc/os-release
  4. Add StegoSOC's GnuPG Public Key:
    wget --no-cache -O - https://api.bintray.com/orgs/stegosoc/keys/gpg/public.key | sudo apt-key add -
  5. Create the agent's apt repo using the below command as sudo:

    Ubuntu

    Trusty (14.04)
    echo "deb [arch=amd64] https://stegosoc.bintray.com/apt trusty main" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/stegosoc-agent.list
    
    Xenial (16.04)
    echo "deb [arch=amd64] https://stegosoc.bintray.com/apt xenial main" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/stegosoc-agent.list

  6. Update your apt cache:
    sudo apt-get update
  7. Install StegoSOC agent:
    apt-get install -y stegosoc-agent
  8. You can check the status by command:
    /etc/init.d/stegosoc-agent status
  9. Thats it, you should now be able to see possible threats in your StegoSOC dashboard



  10. Update Stegosoc Agent on apt

    sudo apt-get install --only-upgrade stegosoc-agent -y
